Dragon:
A race as old as elves or possibly older. Of large winged, warm blooded, fire breathing reptiles. Are very intelligent can in fact speak any language of any race. When mating they mate for life( but they have been none to take another mate after the first dies ocasionaly) and lay eggs that hatching 3 months to fully funtioning offspring. Rarely dragons have been know to mate with much smaller races such as humans.
Their size can range in ton-age from 1/2 to 200 diffrence in males and females is that females have shorter horns, lighter color, softer faces. All dragons to date are decended from the 12 ancient dragons, who are in fact immortal and are still around.
Dragons are usually shown in modern times with a body like a big lizard, or a snake with two pairs of lizard-type legs, and able to emit fire from its mouth. The European dragon has bat-type wings growing from its back. A dragon-like animal with no front legs and walking only on its back legs is a wyvern. Following discovery of how pterosaurs walked on the ground, some dragons have been drawn without front legs and using the wings as front legs pterosaur-fashion when on the ground.
Dragons have been around since the time of dinosaurs and only survived because of its aquatic brethren. They are very intelligent and have a tendency to horde things of value making them a target for treasure hunters. Dragons usually mate for life but have been known to take another mate after the first one dies. Female dragons can lay anywhere from 3-6 eggs in one clutch, after three months the eggs hatch. Very rarely do you find that a dragon has mated with a smaller race (like a human) but when they do the ‘person’ that they mated with slowly begins to turn into a dragon. The first sign of this is constant itching of the skin and then the nails turn black (if you are a human). Dragons can range from as small as a pixie to a 200 ton male dragon. The smaller dragons have nearly become extinct because of hunting and destruction of their nesting places. You can usually tell a male from a female by the length of their horns and the vibrancy of their scales.
Sea Serpent:
A sea serpent or sea dragon is a mythological sea monster either wholly or partly serpentine. Usually seen as a aquatic dragon, hording the treasures of the deep. It has a snake like body with one set of limbs being it's wings which act as fins. Sea dragons do not breath fire like it's land dwelling cousin but has sonar blasts instead.
