Not to be confused with lycans or other were-animals, shapeshifting is known mainly through Native American tales. Shapeshifting is the shifting from one form to another, the most uncommon form to shift into is the wolf. Shapeshifters do not heed the call of the moon like some were-animals and lycans. They are humans with supernatural powers, not a breed of lycanthropy. Shapeshifters have two forms and shift in the style of Animagi.
In this style the subject in a sense has two separate bodies that they can freely switch between. In which they are known as Animagi. This change is always intentional and won't harm clothing, or any other article on the body. Injuries sustained on either of the bodies usually don't carry onto each other although death of one of the forms usually results in the death of both forms and the individual in question. Whether the two bodies are separate-but-linked, exist only for each other and/or can operate independently generally depends on the source. During the shapeshift, there sometimes is a moment when the subject seems to disappear, but this is a very rare instance.
